- Understood the importance of maintaining accurate and complete supporting documents for accounting accuracy.
Reflection
Today was a
productive yet slightly challenging day. I continued working on a detailed
accounting task, which involved entering various transactions and manually
preparing a trial balance. The process really helped reinforce my understanding
of how purchases, sales, and expenses are recorded. While going through the
file, I encountered some missing documents and unclear entries, which led me to
communicate directly with the client. Although I was initially unsure how to
approach them, the conversation went well and helped clear up the confusion.
Most
rewarding of all, I finally managed to balance both the trial balance and the
balance sheet for this client. That moment gave me a deep sense of
satisfaction, especially after feeling stuck and frustrated last week with
another client’s account. I had taken a break from that task to avoid wasting
too much time and losing confidence. But successfully completing today’s task
has given me a much-needed boost. It reminded me that learning takes time and
that I'm making progress. Now, I feel more motivated and confident to revisit
the previous client’s file with a clearer mindset and stronger determination.
