Week 23 Day 115 (12 September  2025) Activity -  Sorted supporting documents to keep as references for previous account works. - Communicated with the client (who is also the person in charge of the previous business) and amended the cash sales, as the promotion portion was wrongly calculated and some were missing from the actual sales. - Explained the amendment to Mr. Lim and discussed possible solutions to prevent the same mistake from happening again in the business records. Key Learning -  Learned the importance of keeping supporting documents organized for reference and verification. - Learned how miscalculations in promotions can affect overall sales records. - Learned the value of discussing errors and solutions with seniors to prevent recurring mistakes. Reflection Today’s tasks felt like a mix of routine and problem-solving. Sorting supporting documents may seem simple, but I realized how important it is when looking back to trace mistakes or clarify figures. It ...

Week 23 Day 114 (11 September  2025) Activity -  Continued working on the previous accounts by preparing journal vouchers to record staff salary based on the Excel records. - Communicated with the person in charge to clarify and tally the cash sales, as she had combined the director’s own sales with the company’s sales, which caused my confusion. Key Learning -  I learned how to prepare journal vouchers for salary records using Excel as reference. - I learned that asking questions directly is important to clear up confusion when sales records are not separated properly. - I learned that good communication helps avoid mistakes in financial reporting. Reflection Today’s work reminded me again how important accuracy is in accounting. When I was making the journal vouchers, I had to double-check the salary records from Excel, and it made me realize how detailed payroll recording can be. Communicating with the person in charge about the sales was a bit confusing at first becau...

Week 23 Day 113 (10 September  2025) Activity -  Checked the cash sales provided by the person in charge, ensuring they were correctly separated between the director’s own sales and the company’s sales. - Made amendments on previous account works by keying in payroll transactions in Excel, including salary, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, bonus, and staff allowances. Key Learning -  I learned how important it is to properly separate personal and company sales to avoid mixing up financial records. - I learned that payroll is not just about salary but also includes many components such as EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and bonuses, which all need careful recording. - I learned that correcting old records can take a lot of time, and it showed me why accuracy from the beginning is very important. Reflection Today was another reminder of how much attention to detail is needed in accounting. While checking the cash sales, I realized how easy it is for things to get mixed up if personal and company transact...

Week 23 Day 112 (09 September  2025) Activity -  Continued working on and completing the audit schedule. - Learned to perform the valuation test and Net Realizable Value (NRV) test to ensure the stock price and selling price are accurate and on track. - Issued, printed, and sorted journal vouchers, and searched for supporting documents to attach with them. - Followed Mr. Lim to another office (also used as a storeroom for his business stock) to check whether the physical stock tallied with the stock listing. Key Learning -  The valuation test and NRV test are important to confirm that inventory is not overstated and reflects fair value. - Journal vouchers must be properly supported by documents to strengthen accountability and audit trails. - Stocktaking in a storeroom environment taught me how important it is to reconcile records with physical stock. - Audit schedules, stock valuation, and stock check all tie back to ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial...

Week 23 Day 111 (08 September  2025) Activity -  Continued working on completing the audit schedule. Key Learning -  Preparing an audit schedule requires not only accuracy but also consistency in how the information is presented. - I’m beginning to see how each section of the account links together, and how mistakes in one part can affect the overall financial picture. - This process is training me to be more patient and systematic when handling financial data. Reflection Today I spent more time continuing with the audit schedule. At first, it felt a bit repetitive since I have been on this task for several days, but I realized it’s actually helping me strengthen my attention to detail. Each time I recheck and make sure the figures align, I understand better how everything connects together in the accounts. Sometimes it can feel slow, but I know this kind of patience is necessary to ensure accuracy, especially for audit purposes. I also noticed that the more I do i...
