Activity


- Continued adjusting the amounts and checking the double entries for each account.

- Focused on identifying the root cause of the imbalance in the general ledger and balance sheet.


Key Learning


- Reinforced my understanding of how each double entry affects financial reports.

- Developed more patience and attention to detail in solving accounting discrepancies.


Reflection


Today was another day of detailed work, going line by line through the accounts to trace the reason behind the imbalance in the general ledger and balance sheet. It was a slow and meticulous process, but I realized how crucial accuracy is in accounting. Although it was mentally tiring at times, I felt more confident in my ability to identify issues and correct them properly. This task reminded me that accounting requires persistence and a strong grasp of the basics, especially when reconciling complex entries.

Week 1 Day 1 (07 April 2025) Activity -  Ms. Chan, a staff member from the Accounting Department, gave a briefing about the company’s activities and the accounting job scope. - Ms. Chan also taught me how to prepare a full set of accounts for a company and assigned some tasks to me. - I keyed in the company’s payment records into the payment vouchers and supplier payment records.
