W7 Day 34 of Nana's Internship

Week 7 Day 34 (22 May 2025)

Activity

Restored the file I brought home yesterday to continue balancing the client’s account.

- Started a new task assigned by Mr. Lim, which involved sorting the receipts from a new client (January to October) into their appropriate account categories.

Key Learning

Learned how to manage work files responsibly when working between home and office to avoid data loss or duplication.

- Improved my understanding of how to properly categorize business receipts for accounting purposes, which is essential for accurate financial reporting.

Reflection

Today, I restored the file I had taken home yesterday, and I felt genuinely happy and relieved because I finally managed to balance the general ledger and balance sheet. This was something I had been working on for quite a while and achieving that balance gave me a great sense of accomplishment. It was proof that my hard work, patience, and careful checking had paid off. I also felt a boost in confidence—knowing that I can solve difficult accounting issues if I stay focused and take my time.

With that positive energy, I began a new task assigned by Mr. Lim, which involved sorting through a new client’s business receipts. The documents were not organized, and everything was stuffed together in a single pile, so it took some time and effort to separate and categorize each receipt accurately. However, compared to how I might have reacted before, I now felt more motivated to handle it. I realized that overcoming one challenge gave me the momentum to face the next one with a better attitude. I still have a lot to learn, but each day I feel like I’m becoming more capable and efficient in dealing with real accounting work.
