- Continued keying in journal entries into the SQL system, focusing on payment vouchers dated from May 2024 to December 2024.

- Gained deeper familiarity with the SQL accounting system interface and workflow.

- Practiced entering journal entries based on real financial documents like payment vouchers.


Reflection


Today, I continued keying in journal entries using the SQL system, focusing on payment vouchers from May to December 2024. The process required me to stay very focused and organized, as I had to ensure that every transaction was entered into the correct account. Although the work was repetitive, it helped me gain a better understanding of how various transactions flow into the general ledger and how they affect the financial statements. I’m becoming more familiar with the SQL system and feel more confident using it with minimal supervision.

Week 1 Day 1 (07 April 2025) Activity -  Ms. Chan, a staff member from the Accounting Department, gave a briefing about the company’s activities and the accounting job scope. - Ms. Chan also taught me how to prepare a full set of accounts for a company and assigned some tasks to me. - I keyed in the company’s payment records into the payment vouchers and supplier payment records. Key Learning - G ained an overview of the company’s operations and the role of the accounting department and learned the job scope and daily responsibilities of accounting staff. - Understood the process of preparing a full set of accounts for a company. - Acquired practical skills in using accounting tools and software. - Practiced entering payment records into payment vouchers and supplier payment records. - Better attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry. - Learned the importance of proper documentation and record-keeping in accounting.
