W16 Day 78 of Nana's Internship

Week 16 Day 78 (23 Jul 2025)

Activity

Checked and adjusted the client's bank account to reduce taxable income after receiving additional supporting documents.

- Called Telekom to resolve the office phone issue where we couldn't receive external calls.

- Verified transactions by cross-checking with other supporting files to ensure no missing records including loan/refund loan, Eauto transfers, entertainment, advertisements (Carlist), and car maintenance.

Key Learning

Learned the importance of thorough documentation and cross-referencing to ensure accuracy in client accounts.

- Understood how supporting documents can significantly affect tax calculations and reporting.

- Gained experience in handling office operations issues, such as contacting service providers like Telekom.

Reflection

Today’s tasks pushed me to think deeper and pay closer attention to detail. Revisiting the client’s account to reduce taxable income reminded me that accounting is rarely “done” in one go — supporting documents can arrive late, and any update can affect the whole financial picture. I’ve started to realize how much responsibility lies in even small adjustments, especially when it comes to tax implications. Cross-checking multiple transactions across different files — including loan, Eauto transfers, advertisements, and maintenance — was overwhelming at times, but it showed me the importance of consistency and proper documentation. I felt the pressure of wanting everything to be accurate, especially since I’ve already spent days on this client’s account.

Even solving the Telekom phone issue was unexpected, but it reminded me that in real work settings, being helpful and taking initiative matters, even in tasks outside our job scope. I’m honestly feeling a bit tired and mentally drained, but I also feel more capable than before. Every task even the frustrating ones, but helps me realize how much I’m learning, not just about accounting, but about being reliable and adaptable in a workplace.
