W16 Day 79 of Nana's Internship

Week 16 Day 79 (24 Jul 2025)
Activity
- Continued checking all the transactions with other files to verify whether my records were accurate or if there were any missing transactions, specifically for office maintenance, rental expenses, utility bills, internet bills, printing & stationery, and upkeep of office.
- Communicated with the client to clarify several transactions that were unclear during the checking session.
Key Learning
- Importance of double-checking every transaction against source documents to ensure accuracy.
- Learned how to communicate professionally with clients to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Realized that even small classification errors can affect the final account accuracy.
Reflection
Today was another detail-heavy day that tested both my patience and focus. Going through each transaction category from office maintenance to upkeep of office which required not just accuracy, but also a deep understanding of how each expense should be recorded. The process reminded me how one overlooked detail could potentially mislead the overall financial picture. What stood out most was the importance of clear communication. There were a few transactions I couldn’t quite match, and reaching out to the client for clarification was a key step to resolving the issue.
I
realized that being able to ask the right questions respectfully and
effectively is just as important as technical skills in accounting. Even though
the task was repetitive, I found a rhythm in the process. It was satisfying to
gradually piece together a clean and accurate financial trail. Each correction
or confirmation felt like solving a puzzle — and it helped me build more
confidence in my review and reconciliation skills. I also became more aware
that even small recording errors or wrong classifications can significantly
affect how accounts are interpreted.
