- Received a new urgent task from Mr. Lim to create invoices based on an example he provided, with a one-hour deadline.
Key Learning
- Improved my ability to work under time pressure and prioritize urgent tasks without compromising accuracy.
- Strengthened my understanding of how to prepare invoices correctly using provided references.
- Learned the importance of multitasking and staying calm when shifting from one detailed task to an urgent assignment.
Reflection
Today was a
mix of detailed account checking and high-pressure task management. While I was
still deep into verifying staff payslips, claims, petty cash, and commissions,
Mr. Lim handed me an urgent task to create invoices that needed to be completed
within an hour. Initially, I felt a rush of anxiety because I was already fully
focused on the verification work. I managed to complete and save the invoice
file within the given hour, but when I tried to open it, the Excel file would
not open.
This was
extremely stressful because I had already spent nearly the full hour on it, and
now I had nothing to submit. Rather than panicking, I decided to inform Mr. Lim
about the issue and requested extra time to recreate the invoices. He
understood the situation, and I quickly redid the work, making sure it was
accurate and complete. This situation taught me the importance of staying calm
when unexpected problems occur. It also reminded me to always have a backup
plan, such as saving the file in multiple formats or locations, to avoid losing
work. Overall, even though the day was challenging, I was proud that I managed
to finish the tasks with focus and resilience.
