W17 Day 85 of Nana's Internship

Week 17 Day 85 (01 Aug 2025)

Activity

Continued verifying advertisement expenses, cost of cars sold, and sales transactions related to cars that had already been sold. This involved cross-checking supporting documents and ensuring all figures were accurately reflected in the accounts.

Key Learning

Understood how to match cost of sales with car sales revenue for accurate profit calculation.

- Improved skills in identifying supporting documents tied to advertising and promotional efforts.

- Strengthened awareness of how proper matching of income and expenses reflects business performance.

Reflection

Today's task was a continuation of reviewing car sales records and related expenses, but I found myself more confident compared to previous days. Matching the cost of each car sold with its respective sale value gave me a clearer picture of how gross profit is derived in the automotive industry. I also spent time verifying advertising costs tied to each vehicle which emphasized how marketing plays a crucial role in driving sales. It was insightful to see how various campaigns and promotions were linked to the actual sale of a car. There were still challenges some sales records were not clearly labelled or had missing references, but I took it as an opportunity to sharpen my investigative and document-tracing skills. The more I dealt with such data, the more I realized the importance of clean record-keeping and the value it brings to both internal accounting and tax compliance.
