W18 Day 87 of Nana's Internship

Activity
- Continued checking the cost of goods sold (COGS) based on the car sales records that the business owner had organized separately by car plate numbers and corresponding months.
- Cross-checked these documents with my previous accounting records to ensure the accuracy of each vehicle’s cost and whether they matched the entries in the system.
Key Learning
- Learned how to reconcile physical records arranged by unique identifiers (like car plate numbers) with system-recorded data.
- Understood the importance of itemized tracking for businesses dealing with high-value, inventory-based sales.
Reflection
Today was
another focused and meticulous day. I worked through cost of goods sold records
for the client's business, which involved matching the owner’s hand-kept
documents which is organized by car plate number and month with my previous
entries. It was quite an intensive task because the car sales were not always
listed clearly or consistently, which made the comparison a bit tricky.
Despite the
challenge, I realized how helpful it can be when clients take the initiative to
organize their records, even if it’s not in a typical accounting format. It
pushed me to be more flexible in interpreting and adapting to various
documentation styles. There was a sense of satisfaction in slowly confirming
each transaction and catching a few discrepancies along the way. It reminded me
that accurate bookkeeping depends on a blend of detailed record-keeping,
careful verification, and patience.
