W19 Day 95 of Nana's Internship
Activity
- Continued cross-checking my old records with the COGS based on car sales records from the business owner, arranged by car plate numbers, focusing on April to May 2024.
- Responded to LHDN’s follow-up email regarding the PCB audit of a client’s company, which required urgent action as the deadline had already passed.
- Arranged dispatch to deliver documents to the client for signature and ensured they were collected back immediately so I could scan and submit them to the officer.
- Registered SST for one of the clients as part of the services we provide.
Key Learning
- Learned how to handle urgent audit-related communication with LHDN, especially when deadlines are tight.
- Understood the importance of coordinating with both clients and seniors to make sure documents are signed and returned quickly.
- Gained practical experience in registering SST for a client, which deepened my understanding of the process and requirements.
- Realized how delays in communication or waiting for clarification from seniors can affect the overall process, and why quick action is sometimes necessary.
Reflection
Today felt a little stressful because of the urgency from LHDN. The officer had already sent us a reminder email since it had been more than 14 days, and we needed to take action immediately. In the morning, I arranged a despatch to send documents to the client for signature and made sure they were returned on the spot so that I could scan and submit them quickly to the officer. This whole process made me realize how important time management and client coordination are, especially when dealing with government authorities. At the same time, I also continued my COGS checking for April and May 2024. It was a bit tiring to juggle both urgent tasks and routine checking, but it taught me how to manage priorities. Another new task for me today was registering SST for a client. It gave me more hands-on experience in applying what I have been learning, and I could see how these registrations play a key role in ensuring compliance.
One
challenge was that I had to wait for my senior’s guidance on some questions
since she was not in the office for a week, which caused some delay. It made me
understand how internal communication can directly affect our progress with
clients and external authorities. Even though the day was overwhelming, I felt
proud that I managed to complete the urgent task and send the documents to the
officer on time. It also felt good to know that I am slowly becoming more
familiar with different types of tax-related tasks, from SST registration to
PCB audits. By the end of the day, I felt like I was balancing two sides of the
job: the careful, detailed checking of records and the professional
communication with outside parties. Both are equally important and today
helped me see how they connect together in real practice.
