W21 Day 103 of Nana's Internship

Activity
- Started working on a new set of accounts involving businesses under the responsibility of Mr. Lim and Ms. Amber. My task was to begin keying in the payment vouchers for the period of January to February 2025.
Key Learning
- Learned the importance of carefully entering each payment voucher in chronological order to ensure accuracy in recording cash outflows.
- Understood how different businesses, even under the same person in charge, might have different payment patterns, which makes proper documentation even more crucial.
- Gained exposure to handling the initial stage of a new account, which requires setting a solid foundation for the rest of the bookkeeping.
Reflection
Today
felt like a fresh start, almost like a clean slate after spending the past few
weeks amending and fixing the old accounts. Starting a new account gave me a
different kind of energy. It felt lighter, but also carried its own
responsibilities. As I keyed in the payment vouchers for January and February
2025, I realized how important the beginning stage is, because whatever I do
now will affect the rest of the account. Unlike amendments, where I had to keep
going back and forth to trace mistakes, here I have the chance to build the
records correctly from the start. It gave me some confidence and motivation,
especially since this account is under both Mr. Lim’s and Ms. Amber’s supervision.
I feel like I’m slowly being trusted with more responsibility, and I
want to do it right.
