W25 Day 122 of Nana's Internship

Activity
- Keyed in petty cash vouchers from November 2024 until September 2025.
- Started helping Ms. Chan to settle her long-pending client account by sorting all the documents according to the project year.
Key Learning
- Learned how to manage and record petty cash transactions, which often involve many small amounts but are still crucial for accuracy in financial reporting.
- Gained exposure to handling backlog accounts and saw how proper document sorting by year can make the process clearer and more efficient.
- Understood the importance of teamwork and assisting seniors to complete pending tasks that require patience and good organization.
Reflection
Today’s work gave me a mix of routine and new
experience. Recording petty cash vouchers was straightforward but required
close attention since the amounts were small and easy to overlook. It reminded
me that even the smallest expenses must be recorded properly because they still
affect the overall financial picture.
On the other hand, assisting Ms. Chan with her
long-pending client account was a completely different kind of challenge. The
documents were scattered and covered many years of projects, so the first step
was simply to sort them by year. It felt a bit overwhelming at first, but once
I started organizing, I realized how important it is to build a clear structure
before actually working on the accounts. This experience also showed me how
delays in accounting can create extra workload later, and why being consistent
and timely in record-keeping is so important. By the end of the day, I felt like I had practiced patience, accuracy,
and teamwork. It also gave me a small sense of achievement to be part of
solving a backlog problem that had been waiting for years.
